A one day conferenece   on "Diet: Cause and prevention of diseases" held on 18-02-2012 at Adichunchanagiri Biotechnology and Cancer Research Institute.



 Nutrablaze Biotech a pioneering Biotech venture in Karnataka, India was launched by Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, President, Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust on 28th April 2011 at Bangalore in the August presence of several dignitaries.  Nutrablaze has the mission and vision to make available initially Docoso Hexanoic acid - DHA and Omega 3 fatty acid,  highly essential for the healthy functioning of central nervous system, brain and retina.  DHA will be made available to infants, toddlers, school children, adults, senior citizens, pregnant and lactating mothers at an affordable   cost, so that, the health benefits accrues to everyone. This will be followed by other neutraceutical in a manner that, benefits even the lower strata of the society.  BGS ABCRI collaborates with Nutrablaze to carry out further research on DHA and other neutraceutical to ensure preventive / curative health care focused on the middle and lower middle class people irrespective of nationality, colour, race, gender or economic viability.  






Collaboration

National and International

An international collaboration with National Institutes of Health, USA is already in place and the details are given below:
  • A prestigious project called RAPID has been awarded to A.B.C.R.I. by the Cancer Prevention Division of National Cancer Institute (NCI) of National Institutes of Health (NIH), USA very recently
  • . The project is funded for taking the water soluble turmeric antioxidant "Turmerin" to preclinical trials. based on on the antioxidant property at Cancer Prevention Division of NCI.
  • The above project is awarded to only six investigators globally and our institute is the only institute to be so honoured outside USA and UK  for the past 8 years
  • We have a special training program which trained six biological science students from Free University of Berlin, Germany

Ph. D. and other Training Programs of the Institute

Six students are awarded Ph.D. degree from University of Mysore are now placed in USA, UK.   At present six students are working towards their Ph. D degree of the Mysore University in Biochemistry, Bioscience and Biotechnology.

We have also trained 300 student trainees from Mysore University, Kuvempu University, Mangalore Univerisity, Bangalore University, Tumkur University, Avinashilingam University, Damodharan college, Coimbatore, K.S.R. College, Tiruchengode, PG.P. College from Namakkal, SASTRA Deemed University, Tanjore, Annamalai University, Pune University  towards partial fulfillment of their dissertation and hands on training.


Conferences

Dr. Leela Srinivas has chaired several national and international conferences and also invited speaker for   several conferences

We have conducted conferences on Turmeric, No smoking Day & Many seminars & colloquiums
